What Carte IQ does
Carte IQ compares credit cards offered in Canada against a spending scenario: yours, if you answer the questionnaire, or a published reference scenario for each profile and each usage. For every scenario the calculation applies each card’s earning rates, caps, annual fee, provincial eligibility and, when confirmed, its welcome offer. The result is a strategy: a single card or a combination of cards, with the estimated net value and how to split your spending.
The methodology describes every step of the calculation, what is measured and what is not.
What Carte IQ does not do
- Carte IQ gives no financial, tax or legal advice. Results are estimates that depend on declared and published data.
- Carte IQ sells no card and processes no application: applying always happens on the issuer’s site, under its terms.
- Carte IQ never connects to your bank accounts and requires no account creation.
- Carte IQ promises neither approval nor rates: the geographic eligibility shown never guarantees that an application is accepted.
Where the data comes from
Card characteristics (rates, caps, fees, insurance, benefits, welcome offers) come from the issuers’ official pages, collected and verified regularly. Every card page shows its verification date and distinguishes a confirmed fact from an undocumented one: missing information is never replaced by an assumption. Card images are the official visuals published by issuers.
Independence
Carte IQ may receive a commission when you use certain links to issuer sites. Those links are attached after the calculation and enter no ranking, no value and no top pick. The affiliate disclosure explains how this works.

Is Carte IQ tied to a bank or an issuer?
No. Carte IQ is not owned by any financial institution. Links to issuer sites, official or affiliate, are added after the calculation and influence neither the order nor the value of the results.
