Carte IQ may receive a commission when you apply for a card through certain links. This page explains exactly when, and why it changes nothing in the results.

What is affiliated
On a card page, the application button leads to the issuer’s site. For some cards that link is an affiliate link: if you apply for the card after following it, Carte IQ may receive a commission from the issuer or its affiliate network. For the other cards, the link is the issuer’s official link, with no commission. In both cases the application happens on the issuer’s site, under its terms.
What it does not change
- Rankings and values. Every result is calculated from published rates, caps, fees, eligibility and offers, within a spending scenario. The calculation receives no information about links.
- Links are attached after the calculation. The official or affiliate URL is associated with the card page once results are produced; it can neither promote nor demote a card.
- Editorial content. Guides and the methodology are not sponsored and are not written to favour an affiliated card.
- Your cost. The annual fees, rates and welcome offers shown are those published by the issuer, identical whether or not you go through Carte IQ.
Why affiliate links
Commissions fund the continuous collection and verification of data, hosting and development of the service, with no advertising and no sale of data.
Transparency
The methodology describes the full calculation. If you find a link that does not lead to the card’s official page, report it through the channels listed on the Contact page.
Frequently asked questions
Does a card with an affiliate link rank higher?
No. Links are attached to card pages after the calculation. The ranking, the estimated value and the top pick are produced without any information about the existence or amount of a commission.
Do you pay more by going through a Carte IQ link?
No. The commission is paid by the issuer or its affiliate network; the card’s fees, rates and offers are those published by the issuer, identical for everyone.
